There are a number casinos located in the commonwealth, most on moored scows. The biggest of the Iowa gambling halls is the Meswaki Bingo Casino Hotel, an American Indian gambling hall in Tama, with 127,669 square feet of gaming area, 1,500 slot machines, 30 table games, like chemin de fer, craps, roulette, and baccarat, and several varieties of poker; as well as 3 restaurants, daily productions, and gambling instructions. One more big Indian gambling hall is the Winna Vegas, with 45,000 square feet, 668 one armed bandits, and fourteen table games. In addition, the Ameristar Casino Hotel in Council Bluffs never closes, with 38,500 square feet, 1,589 slot machines, 36 table games, and four restaurants. There are several other dominant Iowa gambling halls, including Harrah’s Council Bluffs, with 28,250 square feet, 1,212 slots, and 39 table games.

A tinier Iowa casino is the Diamond Jo, a river based gambling den in Dubuque, with 17,813 square feet, 776 one armed bandits, and 19 table games. The Catfish Bend water based, in Fort Madison, with 13,000 sq.ft., 535 slots, and 14 table games. An additional Iowa riverboat gambling den, The Isle of Capri, is open 24 hours, with 24,939 square feet, 1,100 slot machines, and 24 table games. The Mississippi Belle II, a 10,577 square foot water based gambling hall in Clinton, has 506 slots, 14 table games, live productions, and Thursday chemin de fer tournaments.

Iowa casinos offer an excellent deal of tax money to the state of Iowa, which has enabled the funding of many commonwealth wide activities. Tourism has grown at an accelerated rate along with the request for companies and a growth in working people. Iowa casinos have contributed to the expansion of the market, and the enthusiasm for wagering in Iowa is absolute.
