Cambodia Gambling Halls

There is a captivating story to the Cambodia gambling dens that reside just across the dividing line from neighboring Thailand, in which casino gambling is against the law. Eight casinos are based in a relatively small space in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This band of Cambodia casinos is in a prime destination, a 3 to four hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the two largest gaming centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a thriving business with Thai workers and visitors from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very few Westerners. The phenomenal capital gained from the gambling dens ranges from 7.5 million dollars to more than 12.5 million dollars, and there are a couple of limitations constraints for gambling hall ownership. Ownership is assumed to be mainly Thai; still, financing sources are vague. The borders are formally open from 09:00 to 17:00, and though visas are apparently needed to cross, there are means around this, as is true of most borders.

The first Cambodia casinos premiered in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were required to close in 1998, leaving only a single gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a moored barge gambling hall, features one hundred and fifty slot machine games and 60 tables. The Naga gambling den is open all hours with forty two tables of mini-baccarat chemin de fer, four tables of blackjack, 10 of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and a single table each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The original gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in the late nineties and the Golden Crown soon opened. A total of 150 one armed bandits and 5 tables at the Golden Crown and 104 slot machine games and sixty eight gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The newest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features three hundred slot machines and seventy table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slots and 96 table games, including eighty seven baccarat banque (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slot machine games and sixty six of the familiar tables, as well as a single table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the 8 gambling dens in Poipet, again in a hotel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slot machines and 97 table games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in an all-around resort and hotel compound that features many comforts on top of the gambling den, which provides ten thousand sq.ft. of one hundred and thirty slot machine games and 88 table games.
