Cambodia Gambling Halls

There is a captivating story to the Cambodia gambling dens that sit just over the dividing line from neighboring Thailand, in which casino gaming is banned. Eight gambling dens are based in a generally small area in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This collection of Cambodia gambling dens is in a prime area, a three to four hour trip from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 largest wagering centers in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a thriving business with Thai laborers and guests from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The astonishing capital gained from the gambling halls ranges from $7.5 million to over 12.5 million, and there are a number of controls constraints for casino ownership. Ownership is presumed to be mostly Thai; however, financial sources are vague. The borders are formally open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and though visas are allegedly needed to cross, there are methods around this, as is correct of most borders.

The original Cambodia gambling halls premiered in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were forced to close in the late nineties, leaving only one gambling hall in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, an anchored ship casino, highlights one hundred and fifty slot machines and sixty gaming tables. The Naga gambling hall is open all hours with forty two tables of mini-baccarat chemin de fer, 4 tables of chemin de fer, 10 of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The 1st casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in 1999 and the Golden Crown quickly followed. A total of one hundred and fifty slots and 5 tables at the Golden Crown and 104 slots and sixty eight gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort contains three hundred slot machine games and seventy tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six one armed bandits and ninety six table games, including 87 baccarat chemin de fer (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slot machine games and 66 of the familiar table games, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the 8 casinos in Poipet, also in a hotel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slots and ninety seven casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an all-around vacation and hotel building that features many conveniences aside from the casino, which provides ten thousand sq.ft. of 130 slots and 88 table games.
